Project 365 day 93
Happy Anniversary Sweetheart. I took this shot to wish my wife a happy 9th wedding anniversary. We don't really do cards so I thought this was a good way to get the message across and say thank you for 9 years of being my best friend, my rock, my conscience, my wife and giving me my brilliant children.
Alphabet project day 3
C is for Coffee, Costa, Cup, Coconut, Chocolate and Circular. I took this shot in manual mode with an aperture of f/3.6 for 1/60sec. The lighting is from a macro led ring light held above the lens and tilted downwards. The background is a tablecloth laid over a box to create a seamless background.

Alphabet project day 2
B is for boats, buildings, businesses and black (Black Phantom). Shot in manual mode with an aperture of f/5 for 1/800sec. I had already decided on this shot with the boats, buildings and businesses but the Black Phantom name was an added bonus.

International Children's Book Day 2013. A small selection of children's books in my house at the moment, I took this shot to raise awareness for International Children's Book Day, today the 2nd April.
April the 2nd was chosen to mark this day for young literature lovers as it's the same date as Hans Christian Andersen's birthday, the author of many famous children's stories like The Little Mermaid and The Ugly Duckling.
Organised by the International Board on Books For Young People, or IBBY, the aim is to promote books and reading to young people. IBBY was founded in Zurich, Switzerland in 1953 and today there are 70 National Sections from all parts of the world.
During International Children's Book Day there will be a number of events held around the world, including writing competitions and talks from famous authors and illustrators.
While you might be familiar with well-known works like Harry Potter and Alice in Wonderland, there is a whole host of fabulous children's books out there waiting to be discovered - not just by children but by adults who are young at heart too!
To find out more about the day and events happening near you, visit International Childrens Book Day website and pick up a book today!
I set this shot up on my hallway floor so that I could get a darkened background and I liked reflection of the books on the flooring. I took this shot in manual mode with an aperture of f/4.5 for 1/250sec and used the pop up flash on my camera to highlight the books and highlight the reflection on the floor.

Alphabet project day 1
A is for Alphabet, Alpha-blocks and Aged. I finally decided that for the April 2013 group I would do an alphabet project so I thought the best way to start was to start with alphabet. This shot was taken in manual mode with an aperture of f/3.2 for 1/4sec. The lighting is from the pop up flash on my camera and the background is a sheet of white paper to form a continuous backdrop. I have added a slight vignette (post processing) using paint.net.
Project 365 day 91
Odd one out. Shot in manual mode with an aperture of f/7.1 for 1/13sec and using a macro led ring light to light from the right hand side.
